Enter your shipment details below to estimate your total landed cost. This includes your product cost, freight and insurance, duty, and the two standard CBP processing fees — the Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) and, for ocean shipments, the Harbor Maintenance Fee (HMF).
MPF and HMF rates last verified: August 2026. These are set by CBP and revised periodically — this tool will be updated when they change. Your duty rate is not looked up automatically, since it depends on your specific HTS classification, country of origin, and any active Section 301/232/122 tariff layers — all of which can change with little notice. DutyPulse's weekly digest tracks exactly those changes.
How this is calculated
- Customs value = product cost + freight + insurance (a simplified CIF-style estimate — actual customs valuation rules can differ by entry type).
- Duty = customs value × your entered duty rate.
- MPF = 0.3464% of customs value, with a minimum of $33.58 and a maximum of $651.50 for a formal entry (FY2026 figures).
- HMF = 0.125% of customs value, ocean shipments only.
Why we don't auto-fill your duty rate
A lot of calculators guess at a duty rate from a product category dropdown. We didn't build it that way on purpose — the real rate for your shipment depends on your exact HTS classification, country of origin, and whether an active Section 301, 232, or 122 tariff layer applies on top of the base rate. Guessing wrong here is worse than not guessing at all. If you don't know your rate, a licensed customs broker or the official Harmonized Tariff Schedule is the accurate source — and once you know it, this tool does the rest of the math for you.
This is an estimate for planning purposes only, not legal, customs, or financial advice. Actual duties and fees are determined by CBP at time of entry. Confirm your specific classification, valuation, and applicable fees with a licensed customs broker.
